I followed this guide and my LattePanda started smoking.
Now it no longer boots.
This is very disappointing that guides like exist and are being provided by the manufacture.
I know my LattePanda is not covered by the short 90 day warranty anymore, but is there anything you can do?

Here is the best fix for power issues. Use this Power adapter originally for the Raspberry Pi. It connect to Micro-USB and powers the LattePanda nicely. I use it on the 4g/64GB running Arduino programs and works great.
CanaKit 5V 2.5A Raspberry Pi 3 Power Supply
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MA ... UTF8&psc=1
This also works great to supply the proper power over USB.
RAVPower 40W 8A 4-Port USB Charger Charging Station

I had power issues with USB and was using the iPad USB charging block and it still did not supply enough power. These items i mentioned above solved the problem.

Please help to post the portable power bank you are using. I know that our team members tested the Xiaomi power bank, which works stable. But it's a Chinese brand. The spec is just 2.1A with standard USB 2.0 port.Gspot wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 6:21 amany portable solution? I need to run a VGA connection to my Lattepanda Alpha, but to do so would require using the USB-C port for video output (as stated in your manual). Knowing that I have to use the 12v DC input on the board for power now, and, that I will have other peripherals requiring power (let's say one IDE and one SATA device), what type of SFX/Micro PSU would you recommend I use, so that I have one power source for everything?
