Hi guys,

Here's a 3.97'' screen which can be used on lattepanda via the MIPI connector.

But we just provide the screen to the Business consumer now.

And if you want one you can post a "+1" and some idea below the thread, we will provide it to the end-user once there are more than 30 person need it!

Do you want to get one? Would you mind to share your idea of how to use the Small Screen?

Also can contact us via (techsupport@latteopanda.com)! Looking forward to your message!

Welcome to post here! :D

Why "haha" ? "You" asked my colleague Ms. Mey to mark this with "+1"... ;)

Updates ? Nothing you really would like to hear...
but the reasons has nothing to do with your products !
Next projects will come... and I am waiting for the "Alpha" 8-)

+1 I'm always for more screen sizes. On a slightly unrelated note, I would prefer displays with standard 16:9 or 4:3 resolutions. What is the resolution of this display? Any chance of getting other displays with my resolution requirements to work with the Lattepanda? The MIPI Alliance, may they burn in hell, has put the display spec behind a hobbyist excluding paywall/NDA combo so I am not hopeful, but any help the panda gods can give would be appreciated.

Haha. Thanks for your feedback. Why do you prefer standard 16:9 or 4:3 resolutions? This 3.97 display resolution is 800 x 480. But I think we can do customization for different cases.

Let me show a new display for commercial now...8 inch customized display with 1280 x 800 resolution. =. =

I won't lie. I want to make a portable steam machine that doesn't cost too much, mostly for my 2D games so 3D performance need not be great. Most games only support a limited set of resolutions and they are often only the 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions. Some games are smart enough to preserve aspect ratios when stretched from a lower resolution, like 800x600 to 1024x600, but others are not. More important, however, is pixel density. Many games in my library don't support resolutions below 1024x768.

If we could get a 5"-7" screen with a minimum vertical pixel density of 768, then that would be perfect... but in my experience the only screens that fit this description use MIPI DSI, which many SBC's hardware supports, but cannot support in software because of the MIPI Alliance fees and NDA. Even the Raspberry Pi folks were unable to make one until years after the Pi1 boards (although they have added DPI support for smaller/older screens that support that format).

Even if you could find an LVDS display with my project requirements, creating a MIPI DSI to LVDS bridge seems to make the price of the display rather expensive (most places I have seen sell such displays with the bridge board for $70-$100, a good 2x-3x the price of lattepanda screens).

I would rather not resort to using an HDMI or displayport display for this since those cables tend to be bulky and hard to fit in a small device.
