I hope people don't mind the following description...

eDP stands for embedded Display Port. Embedded means it's an integral part of the computer unit, say part of the tablet PC or laptop.

This is why it's using a tiny, flimsy FPC cable in the first place.
Also, getting such cable outside the computer enclosure will not pass the RFI test and it becomes a RF radiator.

I know it's a maker board so people want to think differently.
But at least let me explain the background of such system sub-component and rationale behind.

Touchscreen component update?

I kind of want to get a few accounts and keep responding to this just to get this issue some visibility.

Obviously, LattePanda has a list of compatible displays, since they sent one out as a perk on kickstarter, but why won't they let us know!?

On panelook.com, the only 7" display that seems to have eDP is labelled as discontinued. On AliExpress all the 7" eDP displays come with a giant bezel.

I simply want a basic internal component that I can embed in a small device, am I out of luck?

Obviously, there is a lack of demand for this component, but given that LP clearly knows where to get them.

Please publish a list of suggested displays for the LP Alpha, especially those on the smaller end.

As I know the official 7" touch display for Alpha will be available from DFRobot.com in next two weeks. ;) Please keep an eye on that.
Enjoy Tinkering with LattePanda !

It has almost been a month since it was claimed 2 weeks until it hits DFRobot.
Any more updates about ETA? Really looking for a 7ish inch screen with touch!

The screen issue is there and it is really not working as it used to be. The problem has to be fixed and many users like you are facing the screen issue.

Now it has been 2 months. Any updates?

@Tommyshelby, what is the issue you are referring to? The lack of availability or are screens not working through the eDP connection?
