any update? not sure where v1.1 label is, my BIOS says v2.17.1249 American Megatrends. UEFI 2.4, PI 1.3.

I have 4 of these now and sadly just found out I can't auto power which is going to be pretty bad as I won't be able to get to the buttons once I install them (haven't told the boss yet!) so please fix ASAP!

Cheers
Paul

How to switch on/off the Auto-boot function in LP v1.1/v1.2:
1.Press [Esc] or [Del] once just boot up the system to enter the BIOS
2.Go into Boot->Machine Status AC/Battery In
3.Change it to Power On/Power Off

This thread is about LP Alpha, not LP classic.
The BIOS setting you've mentioned does not exist in LP Alpha (BIOS ver 2.18).

I have 2 of these units, they will be totally unusable without Auto Power On. I need bios update schedule. As I have deadlines! I will have to find a different SBC if this is not fixed by the end of March.

Any update Lattepanda? Your customers are dying for one. And frankly, we deserve it!
If it is not at all possible, please let us know so we can look for different solutions.

Thanks

Hello Everybody,

I didn't browse this topic for a while.
My workaround (Arduino SW+ on I/O D13 HIGH -> LOW (5sec) -> HIGH) works fine because I didn't use USB 3.0 power
I powered my Alpha using the 12V connector ++--

I tried with the USB 3.0 and I've got the same issue. I have to disconnect manually the D13 I/0 ;-(

But with external 12V, it works fine. the arduino code is below :

Important : don't forget to remove the bridge (SW+ D13) before compiling and uploading the arduino sketch, otherwise, LP shut down immediately after 5 sec ( equivalent to press on the on/off button). you can replace it just after the red led is OFF)

====================================================================================
const int ledPin = LED_BUILTIN;// the number of the LED pin

int ledState = LOW; // ledState used to set the LED

unsigned long previousMillis = 0; // will store last time LED was updated

const long interval = 5000; // interval at which to blink (milliseconds)

void setup() {

pinMode(ledPin, OUTPUT);

ledState = HIGH;
digitalWrite(ledPin, ledState);
previousMillis =millis();

while (millis() - previousMillis <= interval){
ledState =LOW;
digitalWrite(ledPin, ledState);
}

digitalWrite(ledPin, HIGH);

}

void loop() {

}
====================================================================================

If you need help, ask me.

In other hand, I have several dozen of Alphas used in Deep Learning , ALPR, Face Recognition, Computer Vision application, and except this nightmare of autopower on, I'm very satisfied ... because I don't need support.

It's quite incredible this lack of communication from Lattepanda regarding this main issue.

Please, wake up, your customer needs you.

Without real support, I'm thinking to migrate our development on a Nvidia Jetson Nano.
