How to Delete the Windows.old Folder to Free Up Space

Introduction

The Windows.old folder can take up quite a bit of space. This folder is created when you upgrade from one version of Windows to another. The Windows.old folder contains all the files and data from your previous Windows installation. In a best case scenario, it might be 12 GB or so of hard disk space. But it could easily consume 20 GB or more. So in this tutorial, I will show you how to delete the windows.old Folder to Free Up Space.

First things first: If you think you might want to downgrade from Windows 10 back to the previous version, don't delete that folder.

Steps:

Step 1: Click in Windows' search field, type Cleanup, then click Disk Cleanup.
