Re: [DISCUSSION] Linux on LattePanda

What I know works using Ubuntu on a LattePanda 4-64. I can only speak for 64 bit software on a 4-64 unit. I have not tried Arduino, but software from Arduino's website should be available for download. I have not tested Ubuntu 17.04 Unity Desktop. I tried Xubuntu and Lubuntu in the 17.04 Linuxium re...

This will serve to confirm the posting by lattepanda_lover on Wed Mar 15, 2017 at 7:45 pm . I am using a 4-64 unit running 64 bit software. :) I have been using his version of Ubuntu: ( https://goo.gl/ePa3Nd ) for a couple weeks now with no significant issues. The only known non-functional item is B...

Re: [DISCUSSION] Linux on LattePanda

NEW RELEASE FROM LINUXIUM! Includes both 17.04A2 and 16.04.2 releases based on the newest JUST RELEASED 4.10 kernel. I've only tried the 17.04A2 4.10 version but it is nearly flawless compared to the previous version. There are still at least THREE issues: 1.) NO BLUETOOTH 2.) Ghosting trailing curs...

Re: [DISCUSSION] Linux on LattePanda

Don't sing my praises until you try it. 17.04 is still real temperamental  . My advise: Install it. If you are happy with the install, forget there is a terminal screen, and avoid the temptation to even look in the software catalog. If you do anything to it, beyond using it, you're going to...

Re: [DISCUSSION] Hardware Feature Requests

Just a few ideas that came out of my build: Power Jack: Barrel type 5.5mm x 2.1mm. Micro USB has power limitations and is far easier to damage than a power plug. (I NEVER unplug power at the board. Always at the 120VAC plug.) This seems to be the most common size, but I could live with a smaller bar...

Re: [DISCUSSION] Fans/Heatsinks/CPU Cooling Mods

Here is my version. IMO heat sinks and fans are mandatory. I made my own installation hardware and bought what I needed from eBay. Everything came from China except the PVC & misc hardware. I made a video of the install that is located here: https://youtu.be/oSE7_Hd6vEs Nothing fancy here. All made ...

Re: [POLL] How are you using your LattePanda?

Right now I'm using it as a Linux based ioT machine. (I'm just one of those guys that has issues with Windows 10 for multiple reasons. The forced upgrades are a land mine with board computers especially.) Since I'm using Linuxium Ubuntu 17.04A2 my options are severely limited until after April, when...

LattaPanda 4-64 Running on Linuxium Ubuntu 17.04 Alpha 2

Good day ladies and gents, I have my LattePanda 4-64 running well using the Linuxium version of Ubuntu 17.04 Alpha 2. Everything works but Bluetooth. NOTE: Standard versions of Ubuntu do not include the kernel patches for video, audio, and wireless. Bay and Cherry Trail Intel processors (LattePanda)...
