Did you use the XC card which means it's a high speed card?
Ubuntu can't detect the high speed card, but the HC card is OK. That's a commun issue for Ubuntu I think

Do you have another HDMI display? Right click on the desktop and select display settings. Choose duplicate or Only on display 2. The display 1 is the MIPI.

Just tried the Beta Ubuntu Image. My BIOS is the latest and BIOS setup is set to default. Installing the image works fine. I am using a 19" philips display . Audio and HDMI is OK.
