Hardware accelerated point cloud streaming with LattePanda Alpha and Realsense D400
This is more a technology than cool project. It takes advantage of the fact that Kaby Lake (in my case LPA with m3-7Y30) is the first Intel architecture that supports hardware accelerated HEVC Main10 (10 bit encoding). LattePanda Alpha grabs data from Realsense D435 depth camera, hardware encodes it...

Re: LattePanda Alpha RS232 and Linux
From https://www.lattepanda.com/topic-f23t16906p27772.html#p27772 a USB 1.1 port (USB-serial) used by EXAR XR21V1410 (CDC-ACM driver aka built-in "driverless" driver), in Win10 it's detected as COM4 this is exposed on top-side of the RS232 connectors (Orange-colored dotted line block), there is a pr...

Re: Questions for Battery Management.
I am much in favor of using the DC_IN power feed method. Simple and "even a caveman can do it". Caveman here ;-) You can use DC_IN also for battery but you will need step up DC-DC 12V power converter. Note that there is no BMS in this solution - you have to charge the batteries externally and make ...

Realsense D400 depth cameras
I confirm that it works. Tested with: - LattePanda Alpha - Ubuntu 18.04.01 LTS - 12V power supply (LiPo + 12V step up converter) - Realsense D435 The camera is sometimes detected as USB 2.0 device, sometimes as USB 3.0 device. The USB 2.0: [ 1057.752370] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 10 ...

Re: Powering from LiPo battery
From this thread: https://www.lattepanda.com/topic-f13t16675.html?start=20 There is discussion about unlabeled and undocumented 10 pin connector on the bottom of LPA. There is also reply from Site admin Hello All, This is a BATTERY CONNECTOR , so that you can use 7.4V(2s) battery to power your Alpha...

Powering from LiPo battery
Hi, In LattePanda Alpha/Delta user manual there is information about LiPo battery port: [...] and Alpha has an extra 7.8v Li-polymer battery port. You can power it by PD adapter, 12v DC input or recommended battery (alpha only) I have two questions: 1. Where is the LiPo battery port in Alpha? 2. Is ...
