Lattepanda PSU exploded

Today suddenly the official LattePanda USB C power supply exploded while the LattePanda Alpha 864s was sitting idle on Windows 10 desktop with nothing running.
Nothing connected to USB port except one dongle for wireless keyboard/mouse. Arduino power is also turned off in BIOS. No SSD or anything else connected.
It triggered the circuit breaker and cut off the power in my house. It also smelled really bad...

I wonder if I was just unlucky or if this is a common issue? I found nothing on the forum.
It seems the LattePanda is fine. If I put 12V to it directly, blue LED flashes and it turns on.
Does anyone know why it broke or what exactly broke? Too much current draw? Short circuit inside PSU? Bad manufacturing? Attachments
