Has anyone been successful in running an RTX card off the Alpha's PCIE port?

If not, what's the most powerful graphics card recommended?

I mainly am interested in Linux version of Latte, where the Alpha would be driving a heavy graphics card for mobile bitcoin mining, or folding on the go.

And what is the chance any of the newer AMD 7nm graphics cards will work on the Alpha?

We can comfortably getting 4-lane PCIe bus out for various purposes. This includes external GPU card.
So long as the power supply arrangement works out, the restriction will be on 4-lane and PCIe data rate.

On the other hand, people ought to think the ergonomics and the rationale to go ultra-small form factor PC like Alpha in the first place.
(Huge power supply, noisy fans, unusual PC shape, etc...)
(Also, think: mounting a turbo charged V12 engine onto a VW Beetle.)

BTW, with the Bitcoin price dropping, (and fire sale of dedicated mining gears), why bother...

i have utilised an gtx 1070 , with an mpcie 2em gen (1x pcie). And i played , doom , ff xv, cod bo3 , fallout 4 in 4k . But pubg use more processor ressource , and temps is an probleme for the stability in this... with 4x pcie 3em gen you have an bandswitch 8x more big... only game with exessive usage of cpu can to be a probleme
