BTW, we made some samples for commercial customers to evaluate the balance of price and performance for 7y75 chip, which is Intel® Core™ i7 Processors. But the testing result is not really good as I know. =. =

8500y has better performance than both of them. So may be LP with 8500y will be created?LattePanda wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 8:44 amBut still, thought 8100y has better performance than 7y30. But it's also more expensive.
On ark.intel.com 7y30 and 8100y have exactly the same recommended customer price, so shouldn't it mean that they have same price?
Also, 8210y and 8200y have almost same recommended customer price(+-10$), so why don't you use them?
Why? What's the problem? Cooling system, may be?LattePanda wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 3:38 amBut the testing result is not really good as I know. =. =

Dear o1111,
The key is price and performance balance according to my study from product team. But it's an open topic for community in my view. The price for P2P i5 and i7 version chip is twice or three times more expansive compared with m3 chip. However, the TRUE computing power is like 0-5% higher after testing (data base, testing result between 7y30 and 7y75)...

Maybe 8500y will have more than 105% computing power of 8100y? You really should test results for them.
I have Proposal about the version 8100y
I wish if the team lattepanda alpha Higher focus For the electric side.
Because There's been a lot of problems power electrical failure.
And I hope they adds more Fuses before Enter the voltage to the CPU.
Either by USB type-c or JST 4p DC input
Provided that the change of the fuse is easy for customers.
For the sake of customers They're encouraged.
LattePanda Alpha it's very good SBC and I love it very much
Thank you team lattepanda alpha
My best wishes to them are good luck and success.

7Y30 was discontinued. 8100Y is 100% compatible with its 7Y30 counterpart, to such an extent that people *have* modded 7Y30 devices to have 8100 and 8200Y parts instead.

Big issue going between 7Y30 and 7Y57 is TDP. Default out of box settings, the chip is TDP limited and wont perform any better. Need to pump much higher wattages into it (intel XTU allows removal of TDP caps) to get more performance.
