Simple answer, Yes. If the CPU gets very hot and thus throttle the speed you will see dropped frames in your video playback.
These processors are designed to work at high temperatures, but if you live in a country that often gets 30c+ weather than sitting the LP on a fan and/or adding extra heatsinks will help very much,
I tested video playback (using KODI) in a room with an ambient temperature of 26c.
The LP's cores often reached the mid 80s but there wasn't any slowdown, performance was consistent.
A couple more degrees hotter and it would throttle and cause choppiness in the video playback.
I don't think the temperatures would be much different if you just put the LP upside down, but you can try it if you like.

You can get a 3pin fan to USB adaptor (which is what I'm using).
Be careful with the voltage, you don't want to give it too much it you may cause damage. 5V is the minimum, however 5.25V is also safe.
As far as amps, you can use any provided that it's 2a minimum. I'd recommend 2.2a or more though.

Could I get a link to that 40x32 heat sink? My temp are so high. Just from regular internet browsing it goes to 79-82 and stays around high 70s.

After noticing very sluggish behavior compared to even my dell venue 8 pro I checked the task manager. My LP is always locked to 460 MHz (with the occasional jump to 480). So I decided to check the temperature of my board and .... its bad.
Anyone else having these problems or is this basically a DOA board?
