We are overwhelmed with feedback for the V1 LattePanda. We would love to hear what you think should be included in the V2 LattePanda. What do you like about the current board? What do you hate about it? Give us your suggestions, let it all out...

The current board is great for the price, but if possible it would be great to have a little bit more power, perhaps a beefier gpu, if possible. There again this can cause heat issues - the current board does run pretty hot after a while. An integrated heatsink / fan (or at least a way to mount one securely) on the next version would be great. Bonus points if the fan is PWM controllable to keep it quiet on idle :)

As first I think it is impossible to fulfill all wishes in one product. Perhaps you should divide the product line into private and professional customers.

I am writing here now as a professional development engineer. I develop devices with a lot size of nearly 1000 units per year. That is not enough for an own design but we need the flexibility of a small single PCB like the LattePanda.

What we need additional :
LCD : For the maximum flexibility of LCD sizes a 24Bit-RGB connector. As a pin connector, not FPC. Also pin connector for I2C touch. Capacity touch, not resistance.
or
5 & 10 inch LCD with your connector and touch option and mounting frame for all sizes

At least one free COM-Port, selectable as RS232 or RS485

Power : Configurable power system. If LiPo battery connected with charge option.
Selectable behavior at
Power On (connecting main power) :
- do nothing and wait for button
- start automatic
Power Off :
- "Off"
- LiPo-Power for shutting down windows and PCB in a few seconds
- or still running vom battery like a Laptop.
Own power regulator with wide range of input voltage 7V < Vin < 26V (12V and 24V are standards) and input filters.

Configurable Boot-Logo and fast as possible showing this Logo at Power on ( < 200ms).

Pin-Connector (flat cable!) for Buttons and signaling LEDs for power sequence. With external power LEDs no need for fast boot logo :)

Valid Win10-Licence für bigger systems. I dont want to struggle with Microsoft... you can do this for me.

Audio amplifier with a little bit more power for external speakers, not headphones. But Mono would be enough for us.
Maybe a connector for a microphone ?

BIOS controlled standard pwm fan connector

All connectors with same height (for additional PCBs) and we prefer 0,1inch spacing

LAN : Additional connector with the signals of LAN-LEDs. In most devices you need the PC (with LCD) at the front, but the LAN connector at the rear. You can use some LAN extension, but the signs of the LAN LEDs are lost.

CE-sign and confirmation document

What I not need :
More processor power. If it can play some videos and do some easy calculation für controlling my devices its enough. At the moment its enough processor power.

Sorry, but : The Arduino. At the first moment I thought it is a great idea to have a separate microcontroller onboard. But now I again prefer my own controllers on my own PCBs.

HDMI

What we still need :
SDcard
Ethernet
WiFi & Bluetooth
2-3 USB

For me There are some nice to haves:
- GBe connection
- a PMIC with lipo/li-ion control
- a Bios controlled fan port with options to place and fix a heatsink and fan
- a sdd/hdd connection (e.g. data or m2)
- more documentation on pcb layout
- more documentation on how to program the I/o connected to the atom and how to use the Arduino side under windows

Auto BIOS recovery should be included which nowadays most of the PC motherboard included especially ASUS mobo.

BIOS bricked is 1 of the Lattepanda major cause the backer request RMA now in this forum.

As a development board many user will have to touch the BIOS whether they prefer or not. Without a safety measure liked auto BIOS recovery Lattepanda should called a mini PC motherboard not a development board where users are not recommended to touch the bios.

- An easy to build case (I orderd the acryl one but gave up after fiddling around for two hours and breaking some parts). Maybe you can create a pre-build case?
- A case that has enough space for heatsinks and fans.
- Build-in option for attaching a fan that is perhaps controlled by the LP itself. The Hardkernel guys have this in their Odroid-Mini-Computers. The Odroid seems to be measuring the temperature itself and then activates the fan.

Well, these were my main problems.

- More robust power supply
- Header for power/reset buttons (this is serious flaw of V1!!!)
- Bit faster eMMC storage if possible (I have 4G version and storage is serious bottleneck for Win10)

Not really related to V2 but it would be nice to have aluminium case which will work as cooler. Maybe with optional frame for display...

Headers for power and reset buttons, you sir are a genius. That would be great to have.
