I've read many times something like "2.4A adapter, but still no power". Please also keep an eye on the usb cable, you're using.

Most adapters supply exactly 5V. If you have a low quality (and long) usb cable, quite a few millivolts will be used to push the current through the cable, leaving fewer then 5V at the LP's end.

For a quick illustration with some numbers: I've got a 6 feet long, super cheap, chinese usb cable, wires inside are 28AWG. Power supply delivers 5V, current is assumed to be 1A. Calculator shows resistance to be ~.4Ohms.

Let's calculate the voltage drop: 1A * 0.4Ohm = 0.4V.
So, under load, I may not expect to have more than 4.6V available at the output.

(Two flaws in our calculaion: LP would need a higher current, and we didn't account for the second cable length: Current goes from powersupply to LP, and from there back again. Both factors would even worsen our results.)

Two possible solutions:
1.) Increase adapter voltage: There are some adapters, that deliver 5.2-5.3V, which compensates some of our voltage problems.
2.) Better idea: Get a better USB cable.
I recently bougt a "quality" cable from Amazon (like this one). Just look at the specs: 1ft length, 20AWG wires. Calculator gives 0.01Ohm as resistance. Pretty amazing: 40 time less cable loss.

Hint: Look for cables with 22AWG or less (smaller AWG-numbers means thicker wires!), and keep the cable as short as possible.

So, please, please, before getting angry with Latte Panda or LP-people, check your cable.
