802.11abgn Adapter fails after Windows 10 Creator Update [SOLVED]

2017/10/26 found driver version 5.93.103.27 at https://drivers.windows10download.com/w ... bit-gjqqk/ that worked

I recently upgraded my 4GB/64GB LattePanda from Windows 10 Anniversary to Creator. On reboot, the Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter would not start (Code 10). The event log showed that the migrate step failed with Status: 0xC0000719.

I finally figured out how to get the drivers off github (for anyone else, you have to download the entire package from https://github.com/LattePandaTeam/Latte ... 0-Software) but ran into the following error:

Code: Select all

pnputil -i -a bcmfn2.inf Microsoft PnP Utility Processing inf : bcmfn2.inf Failed to install the driver on any of the devices on the system : No more data is available. I did a scan for hardware changes to recreate the WiFi network adapter and then did a driver update pointing to the downloaded LattePanda drivers - the drivers were already installed but the adapter still would not start.

I rolled back to the previous Windows 10 code and WiFi started fine, so the hardware is working. The Driver Details shows a lot more components than what I saw on Creator.

Any suggestions on how to narrow down the problem?
2021-07-03 14:01:31 The cab file won't install no matter what I try. I have a workaround for this problem and you can update and also get wifi working after update. The solution is to install the windows 8.1 driver for the broadcom and the windows 21h1 update will work without saying that the broadcom is not supported. I have used this driver for windows 8.1 as it is the same chip as the lattepanda and successfully updated to latest windows 10. https://www.asus.com/supportonly/X205TA ... _download/. I know this is a 32bit driver but it works. All you have to do is uninstall the win 10 driver and install this one before update then after the update. userHeadPic pixeldreamscape
2019-08-13 10:30:08 Hello, I'm also one of the original backers and I have this issue. I'm not interested in downloading a driver from some random website, is it possible for the LattePanda team to provide a compatible Broadcom driver ? userHeadPic rold2007

2017-10-27 05:44:29 @Coco Xia, I ran the LattePanda install scripts in both driver folders - in both cases, the commands 'pnputil -i -a bcmdhd64.inf' and 'pnputil -i -a bcmfn2.inf' failed with "Failed to install the driver on any of the devices on the system : No more data is available." I could not find anything in the Event Viewer logs. I also attempted to update the drivers through Device Manager and got "The best drivers for your device are already installed".

I tried uninstalling the drivers via Device Manager and scanning for hardware changes to reinstall the driver - still no joy.

My suspicion is that the Broadcom drivers provided by LattePanda are not compatible with the Fall Creators Edition. I did a search on "VID_02d0 PID_a94d" drivers and finally found driver version 5.93.103.27 at https://drivers.windows10download.com/w ... bit-gjqqk/. I updated to this driver using Device Manager, disabled/enabled the WiFi adapter, and successfully connected to WiFi.

Problem solved!

2017-10-27 00:47:30 @Coco Xia, I poked around the LattePanda drivers - it appears that LattePanda switched from Broadcom on the v1.0 LattePanda (z8300 processor) to Realtek on the v1.1 and v1.2 LattePandas (z8350 processors. Which WiFi adapter do you have?

I found two sets of Broadcom WiFi adapter code, one in the 'All-in-One Pack' folder structure, the other in 'WIFI & BT\Wi-Fi BT Driver for LattePanda V1.0.zip'. There are differences in the .txt and .map files - not sure if these are important. I am going to re-install the drivers from these two sources and report back.

Thanks, Norbert

2017-10-26 21:44:06 @Coco Xia, I upgraded yesterday - unfortunately the Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter refuses to initialize (Code 10). When I check the driver details, I only see five drivers: 43241b4rtecdc.bin, 4324b5rtecdc.bin, 43341b0rtecdc.bin. bcmdhd63.sys, and vwifibus.sys. Before the upgrade, there were more drivers, specifically five bcm drivers and a T77H360 driver.

I tried running the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter - although it claimed to have made some changes and did a reboot, the WiFi driver is still not enabling.

Is it possible that we have different LattePanda models? I have the one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Thanks, Norbert

I ended up rolling back the Creator upgrade in the hope that the problem would get resolved. There seem to be a lot of people having issues with Windows 10 and the Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter, although most of the issues happened with the upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The advice is always to ask the computer manufacturer for a Windows 10 compliant driver.

I use the LattePanda to test out major Windows 10 updates. I also wanted to test out the new Windows Subsystem for Linux to see if a USB support and shared memory issues have been resolved.

2017-04-13 06:49:36 The Status: 0xC0000719 in the migrate step appears to be unrelated to the problem, since I see the same error message in the device properties Event page after the rollback to the previous version of Windows10. userHeadPic nh905
