HDMI 5.1/surround sound

currently I'm using my LattePanda (Enhanced, 4GB RAM/64GB eMMC) as a streaming box and everything is working fine besides 5.1/surround sound via HDMI. My LattePanda connected via HDMI to my TV and my TV is via a optical cable (SPDIF) connected to my surround system. Problem is that in Windows surround sound cannot be configured. Thus my question, is the LattePanda even capabable of playing surround sound via HDMI?
