what good is lattepanda for a software developer ?

I recently bought LP Enterprise Edition , I am finding it very limited to do software development on this board.

A few days ago I propose a better LattePanda, cheaper than the Alpha or Delta but stronger than the current Enterprise, https://www.lattepanda.com/topic-p25905.html#p25905, even the Udoo will lack in performance with this configuration/price ratio.

Gitlab is a pretty heavy piece of software, but it should run fine under light load. What do you mean when you say it "didn't work"?

Running a Gitlab server isn't exactly "software development" anyway, it's a server task.

Software development would be more like creating applications in Visual Studio or something IMO. This isn't ideal on the LP either though. At least not for large codebases.

I mean, at the end of the day this is just an Atom x5 PC with 2 or 4 GB of RAM and there's no getting around that. Adequate for day-to-day tasks, but not really for power users or heavy server loads. You might want to look into the LattePanda Alpha 864 that is about to start shipping. It has much more capable specs.

I mainly use my LP for light web browsing, IRC chat, playing videos and emulation. It works very well for that.

well yea, I am a software developer and I wanted together gitlab running on it, but it didn&#x27;t worked, however I did got rabbitmq up and running, I also use it as NAS(I know not a good usage but it serves) Its running plex media player which I use to watch movies on TV. the hassle of turning it on manually by pressing the button and wait till the red light goes off is big show stopper.
