Lattepanda Alpha 864 external hard disk always disconnects and connects

Hi all,

Anybody have issues regarding the external hard disk when you connect it to the alpha it reads and then after 1 minute it auto disconnects and connects again. And the sequence repeats. Just a normal trascend 1TB hard disk without power supply. Anybody have any fix? Or am I the only one experiencing it?

My external acer laptop hard drive has corrupted and I could not find the reason behind this, can anyone provide me a valid way to fix and recover it.

Don't know exactly what model you are using. This is an example of such hard drive (using power hungry physical hard disk)

In its label, it stated 5V 0.9A.
You'll have to make sure
(1) the USB cable is one came with such USB3 HDD
(2) if that USB3 cable has 2 connectors on PC end, connect both <-- typically used to get dual power feed from two USB ports (500 mA + 500 mA)

Your originally described symptom sounds like not getting enough power feed from the LPA computer.

Thank you for your reply. Its an external HDD 1TB with usb 3.0. Everytime i connect it to the LP, it will always disconnects and connects by itself. I think there is an issue with power. Ive tried woth all 3 usb ports and it is the same problem. Does your LP having the same problem?

Please clarify. Why type of SSD: 2.5" SATA, M.2 SATA SSD, NVMe SSD?

When you said no "power supply", please explain the situation.
BTW, by just using M.2 SATA adapter to extract signal (thru SATA cable) to reach an external 2.5" SSD drive, it is for signaling only.
SSD's power shall never be directly obtained from M.2 socket.
