LattaPanda Iota active cooler installation

I have a LattePanda Iota Active cooler and are trying to install it.  The cooler has some thermal tape on the back (its blue) but there is none near the processor.  If i place the cooler on the device there is a visible gap between the cooler and the processor.  Even with thermal paste I dont think it will make good thermal contact.  Am I missing something????
