Does LattePanda Mu SIO_UART (COM1) Support BIOS/UEFI Serial Console Redirection?

I am designing a custom carrier board for the LattePanda Mu N100/N305. The carrier is intended to be used as a compact network appliance, so I would prefer not to include a dedicated HDMI/DP display output if it is not necessary.
I noticed that the Mu exposes SIO_UART through the Super I/O, and according to the documentation it appears as COM1 under Windows and /dev/ttyS0 under Linux.
I would like to confirm whether the stock LattePanda Mu AMI UEFI/BIOS supports Serial Console Redirection through this SIO_UART / COM1 interface.
Specifically, can SIO_UART be used for the following during a cold boot?
- View BIOS/UEFI POST output
- Send Del or another key to enter BIOS Setup
- Navigate the BIOS Setup menus through the serial terminal
- Change BIOS settings and save them
- Select or interrupt the boot process / enter the boot menu
In other words, can the SIO_UART be used as a full system console from the pre-boot/UEFI stage, similar to the serial console on a server or enterprise router?
If this is supported:
- Is Serial Console Redirection enabled by default in the stock Mu BIOS?
- If not, where can it be enabled?
- What are the default serial parameters (baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, flow control)?
- Does it work with both the internal Mu BIOS and a carrier-board external BIOS flash?
My planned carrier would have:
- SIO_UART → USB-to-UART bridge → USB-C CONSOLE
- USB 2.0 Host → USB-C SERVICE
- No regular display connector, if SIO_UART can provide complete BIOS access
If the stock BIOS does not support interactive Setup Redirection over SIO_UART, I will keep a Micro-HDMI port on the carrier as a recovery/debug interface.
Thanks!
