Greetings everyone! So i`ve got a LP alpha 8100y with MacOS installed on it and I`m booting it from a samsung EVO 970 500Gb. Everything is working fine but there`s just one thing that bothers me: this ssd was supposed to have 3500 mb/s read and 2500 mb/s write speeds, but I`m only getting about 1500 mb/s read and 1400 mb/s write on it. Is anyone else having the same problem??
I`ve read that this is common when you use an ssd in a pcie x2 configuration but as far as i know, panda has a pcie x4 ssd slot, right??

Thank you for the attention!

I absolutely agree with you.
I have the same problem.
I use samsung EVO 970 256gb of the same product and their speed is like 1795/1450
What is lattepanda's interpretation in this regard?

Please bear in mind LP Alpha's CPU/SoC is a mobile version of the Intel i3, optimized for low power-energy efficient, performance capped, and itself a ultra small form factor device.
The m3-8100 (or the m3-7Y30) bus is shared and only offer 4GT/s. I.e., most optimal situation, its PCIe gen3 will only be capable of 4 Gbps x 4 thru QPI arrangement.

The 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD has the theoretical best/most optimal performance, based on PCIe gen-3 8 GT/s x 4 configuration.
The idealistic performance figure is derived from that.
