Was thinking of an m.2 board that could harness the real speed of the bus, maybe an m.2 firewire board... this could be used to connect audio interfaces for multi tracking audio in and out, and allow us to bypass the USB translations

Interesting. Is there any product available from the market already? Or you need to design it.
Enjoy Tinkering with LattePanda !

I have found that there are many options available for the m key connection but very few for the e key connection. I have an ssd fitted to my m key slot but have no idea what or how to make the most of the e key one. ideally i would have liked to run an adaptor to fit a gpu but i cant find any. Are the LattePanda team looking at all at producing something like this? im not sure why they chose an e key connection given its mainly used for things like wifi and the LPA has that built it.

A GPU adapter would be a bit pointless, m.2 e is only PCIe x2. That said, there is at least one rather interesting addon that fits: https://picoevb.com/
