Usb3 port not functioning with usb3 harddrives

I was truing varios usb3 sticks and harddrives in the usb3 port but non of them where recognised althouh if place in the usb2 ports they are recognised , any drivers or something i should do to make the usb3 port work with usb3 devices ?
