Same problem with LP after re-flash the BIOS. Red LED is on, blue LED blinks for short time and that is all.

With my LP version S70CR110-C34A / Z8300, I got this brick by updating the BIOS to “Auto Power On” via USB.

To recover it, I am using the Zzz5123 method.
- I had many problems to put the IC clamp over the chip and I solve it soldering the wires directly.
- I am using to program the default file 2G+32GB BIOS “DF-BI-7-S70CR110-C34A-001-C”
- Same programmer as describe in the method and CH341A software v1.18 (version for Windows 7). With this software I made a copy for the old inside BIOS, to recover the Windows 10 license if is possible.
- Pressing “Auto” in the software, doesn’t work for me, but “Program” works fine. Also “Verify” works. With CH341A software v1.29 on Windows 10, there is a message regarding drivers problems when the program start, but the software works even the “Auto” program.

It seems strange that some guys have the same problem after re-flash. but I don’t believe that could be the CPU or Power problems.

I want to add more information:

- When I press the "Reset" button during 5 seconds, red LED flash off half a second.
- When I press the "Power" button during 6 seconds, red LED goes off forever.
- When I press the "Power" button again during 2 seconds, red LED goes always on again.

LattePanda team have checked if all BIOS version are OK for all different devices versions?

Why the red LED could goes off and on, if the CPU doesn't work or there is a power supply problem?

Is it possible that the BIOS chip does not work properly even if it has been reprogrammed?

SOLVED

Fortunately for me, despite not receiving any help from the LattePanda team, I have fixed it by doing a HARD RESET but with a method somewhat different from the one that appears in the following link, because in a first attempt it did not work as they describe.
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=853

Second try:
- LattePanda was connected via HDMI to a TV.
- HDMI plugged but TV screen shows a HDMI disconnected message.
- Simultaneously pressing POWER and RESET.
- Then I plugged in the power supply and waited at least 20 seconds before releasing POWER and RESET.
- WITHOUT disconnecting the power, I waited few seconds watching the TV went to black screen warning the HDMI cable had a signal.
- The LattePanda logo appeared once and then the screen went to black.
- The LattePanda logo appeared a second time and then the screen went black.
- Then the Windows 10 screen appeared.

As I had flashed the BIOS with the new file "Auto Power On" I thought I had lost the activation key, but it is not true, I checked Windows 10 was still activated by putting the following command SLMGR -XPR in the CMD window.

Of course, I made a BIOS backup in the system now and comparing the new APO BIOS working file with the APO BIOS factory file using HxD or Notepad++ HEX editor plug-in and there are big differences now.

To prevent a new brick, what is the most recently BIOS file to use with my LP version S70CR110-C34A / Z8300 including update with Auto Power On?

So weird. After that day flash bios and red led keep blicking, i thought my lp is dead. So I put my lp in box and never touch it again. But today I try connect with screen and touch panel, and try to power on. Suddenly it can power on and boots to window. My wifi and bluetooth is alive. I flash back to default bios then my bluetooth working already. So lucky my LP alive again.. >w<

LattePanda fixed itself without power???... My feeling now is the LattePanda team don't give good support. Their emails are very pleasant but they don't give acceptable technical responses, e.g. talking about Auto Power On BIOS, the answer was that they were working 1 year to merged the Auto Power on feature into the default system BIOS, but that is not true for all model boards like the Z8300. Talking about HARD RESET information or more technical information like schematics diagrams, they do not answer.

Does anyone have information about what the HARD RESET process does?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I had the 1.8v bios version. It also works with an old GQ-4X rev.1.3 programmer ( I had to buy a cheap 1.8v adapter). Change the device offset to 000000H, choose a GD device ID (there is only one on the device list that gives you an error but that doesn't matter) and make sure the IC clip/clamp on cable is seated properly on the bios chip (this is the hard part, I had to pry the connections a little in order to seat properly on the chip). My latte is alive again!
