I’ve got my 17” eDp lcd panel to work. ! Tricky part was figuring out what ribbons were necessary and how to operate the connectors.. I bought a 17.3” replacement lcd from amazon:
B173RTN02.2
I found ribbons on aliexpress. You need 30 pin, .5mm pitch, with the correct gold connector on one end (IPEX, I believe), and the bare plated ribbons on the other. I bought one “a” and one “b”. One version has the top side ribbon exposed, other version has the bottom side exposed (relative to the metal connector). So one type reverses the connection order. Not sure which is which and don’t know which one I actually used to get it working, but see the picture and you will know which you need to find. They both came in one package weeks after I ordered them, once again study the pics to get your bearings.
One thing that I do know now, is that pin 30 marked on the LCD must connect to the side of the connector on the latte panda that says “touch”. (See pics again)
So yeah it’s working, no bios changes or drivers etc, happy. My screen does have a few dead pixels curiously in the shape of letters “dB”, I’ll give that to the fact that yeah it’s China, these discount screens didn’t make prime time, so the factory owners brother sells them on Amazon. No big deal for me.

Enjoy Tinkering with LattePanda !

Hi, great to know!
Could you please share the part numbers of the ribbon cable you ordered from the AliExpress. The one I ordered from ebay seems to be "the wrong one" I am able to get the picture by holding my finger to tighten the ribbon cable against the LP-connector, but as soon I get my finger off picture disappears from the display. So the display works OK, the cable not ...
In my version of the ribbon it must be inserted 'upside down' so that the clear connectors are facing the LP board, otherwise there is a nasty sound of power overload as the display is "short circuit'd"

Thanks!

I'm wondering - would this controller board work on the 7" screen?

I have been looking at this thread no stop for the past few weeks.
I ordered the Samsung 15.6 display from ebay. And still awaiting on the new ribbon cable. I bought one with the gold connector on one end. Not sure how to tell if I got the A or the B relative to the connector.
FOR FUTURE buyers: I originally bought a pack of plain cables without any connector and it will not work for the display. Make sure you get the ones with the gold connectors.
To OOP and revtor,
I am having a bit of a hard time figuring out which side of the ribbon is going to my my "gold finger" or which one is pin 1. Alternatively how did you figure out which one is pin one coming from the monitor? A bit scared to just hook up the display, hail mary, and fry my panda
Really appreciate the write ups and will be sharing my experiences as well.

I got my screen and the ribbon cable setup and working!
However after some use, I started getting the USB-C power issues, I finally(and luckily) have been getting it to boot again, but everytime it hits the LP splash screen It shuts off right away.
Any ideas? Probably just drawing too much power?
